This is hands down my go-to marinade for salmon. It has all the flavor profiles I look for in a marinade, slightly sweet, spicy, with a rich umami from the tamari. The honey helps the marinade caramelize and thicken once it is baked.
This marinade is also very flexible, if you like it spicy you could add more sriracha. If you want it sweeter add more honey. The beautiful thing about it is you could play around and tailor it to your liking. These particular measurements are exactly what I enjoy.
It is usually just myself eating salmon as my family aren’t big fans of it so this recipe is for 1 to 2 pieces of salmon. It can always be doubled or tripled. However you end up making it I know you’ll love it!
Honey Sriracha Sesame Salmon
Ingredients
2 Tbsp Tamari
1 Tbsp Honey
1 Tsp Sriracha
1 Tsp Sesame Oil
1 Tsp Sesame Seeds
Directions
Mix all ingredients into a bowl and add salmon. Cover and place in the fridge. Marinade 4 to 8 hours.
How I Like To Cook It:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Next put 1 Tbsp of avocado oil in an oven safe frying pan over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, place the salmon skin side down and sear for 5 mins. Once the skin is crisp place in the oven and cook for 12-15 mins.
I recommend serving the salmon with roasted green beans and basmati rice.
Enjoy!
